What is tolerance?
The thickness tolerance of stainless steel means that the actual thickness of the stainless steel material rolled by the steel mill cannot reach the theoretical thickness. For example, if a material with a thickness of 3 mm is to be made, the actual rolled material is 2.8 mm, which is the tolerance.
The existence of tolerance
This is a very important term. Tolerance is a recognized allowable length or thickness deviation. Because in the plate production process, it is difficult for various reasons. For example, in the rolling process of the steel mill, the rollers of the machine will be slightly deformed due to the heating, resulting in deviations in the thickness of the rolled stainless steel, generally in the middle Thick and thin on both sides. The actual thickness is often not up to the theoretical thickness.
For example, a 6 mm board is only 5.6 mm. This is the tolerance. When buying and selling boards, it is usually calculated according to the theoretical thickness. This is why the theoretical price is lower than the weighing price. The reason is that the tolerance is divided into size, and the price is different. The price of large tolerance is cheap. For example, if it is 8 mm, if it is below 7.2, it is a large tolerance. If it goes lower, it will not be a product that meets the predetermined standards.
Usually when we buy and sell stainless steel, we calculate the weight according to the theoretical thickness, which is why the theoretical weight is heavier than the actual weight.
Positive and negative tolerance
Domestic tolerances are often negative tolerances, of course there are positive tolerances, but very few.
Large tolerance and small tolerance
Tolerances are also divided into sizes and prices are also different. Relatively speaking, the price of large tolerances will be cheaper than that of small tolerances. For the same product, the same thickness, different tolerances may bring a price difference of hundreds of yuan.
