Characteristics of stainless steel:

The characteristics of stainless steel make it an important material in many industries and daily life. The following are its main characteristics:


1. Corrosion resistance

The biggest advantage of stainless steel is its excellent corrosion resistance. A dense chromium oxide film will form on its surface, which can effectively prevent the intrusion of oxygen and moisture, thereby preventing the steel from rusting. Different types of stainless steel (such as 304, 316, etc.) have different corrosion resistance in different environments.

For example, 316 stainless steel has stronger corrosion resistance due to the presence of molybdenum, and is suitable for use in the marine and chemical industries.

2. High strength

Stainless steel has high mechanical strength and can withstand greater tension, pressure and impact. Compared with ordinary steel, its tensile strength and compressive strength are much higher.

Especially martensitic stainless steel, which has high hardness and strength, is suitable for applications that require higher strength.

3. High temperature resistance
