The various surface processing of stainless steel has broaden its application field. Different surface processing makes the surface of stainless steel different, making it unique in the application. In the field of building applications, the surface processing of stainless steel is important for many reasons.
1. Basic types of surface processing
There are five types of surface processing that can be used for stainless steel. They can be used in combination to transform more final products.
Five types are:
1. Rolling surface processing
2. Mechanical surface processing
3. Chemical surface processing
4. Measure surface processing and color surface processing
5. special surface processing
2. Rolling surface processing
There are three basic rolling surface processing of plates and band materials, which are represented by board and village production technology.
NO.1: After hot rolling, annealing, pickling and removing scales. The surface of the steel plate after treatment is a dull surface, a bit rough.
No.2D: better than N0.1 surface processing, and it is also dim surface. After cold rolling, annealing, and removing scales, we finally gently rolled with hair rollers.
NO.2B: This is the most commonly used in architectural applications. Except for the last mild and cold rolling of polishing rollers after annealing and scales, other processes are the same as 2D. The surface is slightly glowing, which can be polished.
NO.2B Light Anti -fire: This is a reflective surface that is rolled by polishing rollers and finally annealing in the controllable atmosphere. Light annealing still maintains its reflection surface and does not produce oxide. Because no oxidation reactions occur during the lighting of light, no need to pick up and passivation.
3. polishing surface processing
NO.3: It is represented by 3A and 3B. 3A: The surface is grinded evenly, and the particle size is 80 to 100. 3B: The hair surface is polished, and the surface has a uniform straight lines. Usually, the sofa with a particle size of 180 to 200 is made of 2A or 2B board.
NO.4: One -way surface processing and not strong reflexivity. This surface processing may be the most widely used in architectural applications. Its process steps are to polish with coarse abrasives, and finally grind with a mill with a particle size of 180.
NO.6: It is further improvement of No.4, and it is a polishing to polish the NO.4 surface in the abrasives and oil. There is no surface processing in the "British Standard 1449", but it can be found in the US standard.
NO.7: It is called light polishing, which is polished to the surface that has been worn well but still has grinding marks. 2A or 2B boards are usually used, with fiber or cloth polishing wheels and corresponding polishing cream.
NO.8: Mirror polishing surface, high reflectivity, is usually called mirror surface processing because its reflected image is clear. Use fine abrasive to polish the stainless steel, and then polish it with a very fine polishing paste. In the building application, it should be noted that this surface will leave a handprint if this surface is used in a large amount of personnel or people often touch. The handprint can of course be wiped off, but sometimes it affects the beauty.
4. surface roughness
The classification of rolling surface processing and polishing surface processing is the degree that can be achieved. Another effective way is to measure the surface roughness. The standard measurement method is called CLA (central line average), and the measuring instrument moves horizontally on the surface of the steel plate to record the change of the peak valley. The smaller the CLA number, the smoother the surface. From the surface processing and CLA number in the table below, the final result of different levels can be seen.
5. Mechanical polishing
Note: We should remember that the grinding of sandpaper or sand belt in the grinding operation basically belongs to the polishing cutting operation, leaving a fine line on the surface of the steel plate. We have encountered trouble when using alumina as abrasives, part of the reason for stress. Any grinding parts of the device, such as: belt and mill wheels, etc., must not be used for other non -stainless steel materials before use. Because this will pollute the surface of stainless steel.
6. Electrolytic polishing
This is a metal removal process. In this process, stainless steel is used as an anode in the electrolyte. This process is usually used for processing of components because their shapes are difficult to polish in traditional methods. The process is often used on the surface of cold -rolled steel plates because its surface is smoother than the surface of hot -rolled steel plates. However, electrolytic polishing can make the impurities on the surface more obvious, especially the titanium and stable materials will vary in the weld area due to granular impurities.
Small welding scars and sharp edges can be removed through this process. The process focuses on the prominent parts on the surface and gives them priority to dissolve them. The electrolytic polishing process is to soak the stainless steel in the heated liquid. The proportion of the liquid involves many proprietary technologies and patented technologies. The electrolytic polishing effect of Auslite stainless steel is very good.
7. mesh surface processing
There are many types of patterns that can be used in stainless steel. The advantages of making steel plates have the advantages of adding pattern or mesh surface processing as follows:
1) Reduce "ol can-ning" (Oil Can-Ning). The word is a term used to describe the surface of the light material. This surface is not calm from an optical perspective. For example, a large area of decorative board, even after stretching or tension, it is difficult to completely straight the surface, so metal roof material will shrink.
2) The mesh pattern can reduce the glare emitted in the sun.
3) If the pattern board has slight scratches and small area indentation, it is not obvious.
4) Increase the strength of the steel plate.
5) Provide the choice for architects. Patients with patent rights include cloth patterns (for Ed Building in London), embedded patterns, pearl -like and leather patterns. You can also use ripples and line -like patterns. The surface of the pattern is particularly suitable for interior decoration, such as: elevator panels, counters, wall boards and entrances. In external application, it should be considered that stainless steel can be cleaned and cleaned by rainwater and artificially scrub surfaces to avoid the dead ends of vulnerable dirt and air impurities, so as not to cause corrosion to affect the aesthetics.
8. hair surface processing
The surface processing of the hair surface is one of the most commonly used surface processing. It is polished with nylon grinding band or brushing with a polished or bright steel plate surface.
