Introduction
Steels containing carbon as the main alloying element are called carbon steels. They contain up to 0.4% silicon and 1.2% manganese. Residual elements such as copper, molybdenum, aluminium, chromium and nickel may also be present in these steels.AISI 1060 carbon steel has characteristics similar to that of AISI 1055 carbon steel.
Application
1060 plate is a carbon steel that is widely used in wear rail and other applications where flame hardening, for surface hardness, is commonly used. 1060 plate is spheroidized annealed which is ideal for subsequent machining, forming, quench-and-temper heat treatment and flame hardening.
